We collect as little as possible, and we never see your card details.

Who we are

Someone in Gaza is the controller of the personal data described on this page. Someone in Gaza is an independent, unpaid volunteer group; it is not a company or a registered charity and has no separate legal personality, so in law the volunteers who decide how this data is used are responsible for it. What we hold

You enter your payment details, email and name on Stripe's secure payment form. Our own records hold only a reference, the amount, the date and the payment status. If you arrived from one of our adverts, we also record which campaign it was. We do not hold your name, email or address. For a refund or a question we look the payment up in Stripe.

Why

To take your donation and send your receipt; to keep proper accounts of the appeal and handle refunds or fraud; and, only if you accept cookies, to measure whether our adverts lead to donations. We will not send you marketing, sell your data, or give your contact details to any advertising platform.

Who else is involved

Stripe processes payments and sends receipts (Stripe's privacy policy). Our website host and database provider store our records. If you accept cookies, Meta and Snap learn that you visited and, if you give, the amount and reference of your gift.

How long

Donation records are kept for six years after the end of the financial year, so the appeal's accounts can be checked.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct, delete or restrict it, or object to its use. Email us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
